Permanent public artwork commissioned by Bergen Municipality for the launch of the Bybanen light rail. Prime consists of 6 grid-like structures in large or smaller sizes spaced equally throughout the Wergeland tunnel, with the largest versions at either end.

The light elements that make up the grid animates according to a timer mechanism based on prime numbers. Hence, the first element might be on a 5 second cycle, spending equal time on or off. The next element might have a 7 second cycle and so forth, guaranteeing a constantly evolving pattern that is all but impossible to predict.
